Albert and Erik take the slow ride to Hunter Mountain Ski Resort in the beautiful Catskill Mountains. They talk to resort CEO, Russ about the impact of shorter ski seasons on his business, and former lift engineer Scott about the devastation wrought by Hurricane Irene in his nearby town of Hensonville. Along the way, Erik answers the burning question–Why are we talking about Hurricane Irene?
We roll into beautiful Kyserike, NY and talk with James and Dolores. James and Dolores are vegetable farmers, and they’ve noticed a lot of changes in the weather over the last 70 years of living in the area.
Check out our latest trip update. Albert gets a haircut, Erik fixes a trailer, and we talk to some extraordinary everyday folk in the Hudson Valley, NY about climate change.
We’ve had a terrific start to the trip! The motorcycle is running great, and we’ve had some great conversations so far. The first leg of our trip takes us to the eastern shore of the Hudson River in New York, where we hop on board a historic sailing ship and talk with the crew.
And so the adventure begins! Starting in New Haven, CT, we take to the slow roads to hear from people around the Northeast about what they do, observations of the weather, and any thoughts they have on the subject of climate change.
